Using JDBC, you can access virtually any tabular data source from the Java™ programming language. Pervasive PSQL includes a 100% Java JDBC 2.0 Type IV JDBC driver. Applications that use earlier versions of the JDBC API can be run using the Java 2 platform which allows backward compatibility. However, any application that takes advantage of the new 2.0 features requires a driver that implements those features.
